3 Palestinians shot dead on Gaza border: Israeli armyIsraeli soldiers shot dead three Palestinians on Sunday after two separate infiltration bids on the Gaza border, the army said. "2 suspects attempted to infiltrate Israel from the southern Gaza Strip and damage the (border) security fence," the army tweeted. Forty-five Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the start of what organisers have dubbed the Great March of Return on March 30, with more than 1,500 wounded.

Two Koreas agree to hold summit on April 27

The two Koreas have set a date for a rare inter-Korean summit, following a high-level meeting that was held days after the nuclear-armed North's leader Kim Jong Un made his international debut with a surprise trip to China. "According to the will of both leaders, the South and North agreed to hold the '2018 South-North summit' on April 27 at the South's Peace House in Panmunjom," said a joint press statement, read out in turn by both delegations' leaders on Thursday. No one was in the patrol car when the collision took place in the late morning, the Laguna Beach Police Department said in a message posted along with photos on Twitter.
